B' e feallsanaiche, eachdraiche agus aistear Albannach a bh' ann an David Hume (7 an Cèitean 1711 - 25 an Lùnastal 1776). Ghabh e pàirt anns an Soillseachadh Albannach. Thathar a' smaoineachadh gum b' e an fheallsanach a b' fheàrr a sgrìobh anns a' Bheurla a bh' ann.[1]
Chaidh a' chiad leabhar aige, A Treatise of Human Nature, fhoillseachadh ann an 1738 nuair a bha e 28 bliadhna a dh'aois. Bha ùidh mhòr aige anns na dòighean a tha buaidh aig eòlas-inntinn air ar binne.
