Rathad-iarainn na Gàidhealtachd
Chruthachadh an Rathad Iarainn na Gàidhealtachd (Beurla: Highland Railway Company) ann an 1865 nuair a thàinig buidheann de rathaidibh-iarruinn fa-leth còmhla. Mhair Rathad-iarainn na Gàidhealtachd na chompanaidh rathad-iaruinn neo-eisimileach sios ri 1923 nuair a chaidh e gu bhi na "constituent company" de'n "London Midland and Scottish Railway" (LMSR) aig Cruinneachadh nan Rathad-Iaruinn.
Fhosgladh a' chiad earran de Rathad-iarainn na Gaidhealtachd eadar Inbhir Nis agus Inbhir Narann ann an 1855. An 1857 ceangailear Inbhir Nis ri Lunainn, le rathad Obar Dheathain. Dh'fhosgladh slighe nas direach tro Farrais, thar mointich Dhabha agus thar Dhruim Uachdair ann an 1863. Bliadhna roimhe seo dh'fhosgladh an rathad-iarainn "Ross-shire" gu Inbhir Ghòrdain. Rugadh Port an t-Sroin ann an 1870 agus Inbhir Theòrsa ann an 1873.
